A New Way to Think about Productivity

Christian Schierenbeck ()

Chapter Chapter 1 in Fixing Higher Education, 2013, pp 9-18 from Springer

Abstract: Zusammenfassung In order to explore opportunities for improving the level of productivity in higher education, there must be clarity around what the term “productivity” actually means. The first section of this chapter portrays common views of productivity in higher education and discusses their limitations. The second and the final section of this chapter introduce two new measures of productivity designed to overcome the limitations of the existing definitions.
