Abstract: Zusammenfassung Skat ist eine Weiterentwicklung des Schafkopfs. Es wurde 1813 in der thüringischen „Skatstadt“ Altenburg geboren und entwickelte sich schnell vor allem durch Studenten und Soldaten. Heute gibt es einen Skat-Verband, eine Skat-Bundesliga und sogar ein Internationales Skatgericht, das bei strittigen Fällen bemüht wird.
