Chapter 7 in Innovation Acceptance, 2014, pp 249-282 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The aim of the previous chapter was to empirically examine the potential predictors of behavioural intention to accept ADAS technology. The present chapter is aimed at consolidating the findings from the previous chapters and to provide justification for the development of a conceptual modal towards the acceptance of ADAS. Specifically, the discussion will focus on the role of the predictors in this model as well as on the influence of background variables. In the next step, the implications of the findings for the different stakeholder groups (academic, economic and governmental) will be discussed in detail. Based on these implications and the individual aims of each stakeholder group, the author will derive recommendations for further action. Finally, the contributions to knowledge of the present research will be summarized and presented, together with the limitations of the present study and the outlook for further research in the field. In conclusion, the objectives of this chapter can be summarized as follows: Consolidate the findings from the previous chapters; Provide justification for the conceptual model towards ADAS acceptance; Provide an overview of the implications of the results and develop recommendations for the different stakeholder groups; Discuss potential limitations of this study; Describe in detail the contributions to knowledge of this study; Provide an outlook on further research.
