Chapter 7 in Governance Arrangements for IT Project Portfolio Management, 2014, pp 217-221 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This dissertation has been motivated by the continued increase of the number of IT projects in contemporary companies and by the need to manage these projects effectively as a portfolio. In order to implement IT project portfolio management practices in a given organization, appropriate governance arrangements are required. The current work has set out to investigate governance arrangements for IT project portfolio management in sufficient detail and in different contexts. Based on an empirical study and a quantitative modeling approach, the advantages and disadvantages of different governance arrangements have been illustrated and the impacts of different design choices on the exploitation of synergy potentials have been demonstrated.
