Chapter 6 in Innovation in a High Technology B2B Context, 2014, pp 99-110 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the current chapter, I draw on the interpretivist foundation laid in the previous chapter and explain the methodical creation of scientific ideas from empirical insight. I introduce the Peircian, scientific, notion of sense-making as set out in Chapter 5, namely, perceptual judgement. Employing the pragmatist technique of abduction in a qualitative research setting, surprising facts and routine observation can thus be combined into hypotheses to undergo subsequent verification.
