Abstract: Zusammenfassung Ihren Ursprung haben ABS in der Verbriefung von Hypothekenkrediten unter Beteiligung staatlicher und quasi-staatlicher Institutionen in den 1970er Jahren in den USA. In den 1980er Jahren wurden erstmals auch nichthypothekarische Forderungen verbrieft; bis zum heutigen Tag hat sich eine Vielzahl von Finanzprodukten herausgebildet, die den ABS zuzuordnen sind.
