Abstract: Zusammenfassung Richard R. Nelson und Sidney G. Winter gehören zu den Ökonomen, die durch vielfältige Arbeiten maßgeblich die Evolutionsökonomik geprägt haben. Von herausragender Bedeutung sind ihre innovations-, industrie- und wachstumstheoretischen Simulationsmodelle, die – wesentlich von den Arbeiten J. A. Schumpeters inspiriert – in den 1970er- und 1980er-Jahren entwickelt wurden. Ihre Modelle waren Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Weiterentwicklungen in den 1990er- und 2000er-Jahre. Ein großer Teil der „history-friendly models“ und der agentenbasierten Modelle steht in der Tradition der Nelson-Winter-Modelle.
