Abstract: Zusammenfassung Der Begriff Honorarkonsul ist eine Verbindung des Wortes Konsul mit dem lateinischen honorarium (=Ehrensold). Dem entspricht es, dass der Honorarkonsul kein festes Honorar erhält, sondern lediglich das Recht hat, die im Rahmen seiner amtlichen Tätigkeit anfallenden Gebühren, einzuvernehmen.
