Chapter 5 in Lean Management, 2022, pp 59-66 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The topic of flow deals with the process layout and the batch size. Latter is a problem for lean production, because flow can only be designed with a small batch size. The deep understanding of the differences between a production according to lot size and a production according to the principle of one-piece flow is the basis for an improvement of quality, time and costs.
