Chapter 3 in Intelligent Retail, 2023, pp 109-229 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In smart retail, there are five central issues that will shape the retail of the future. First and foremost, the basic prerequisites must be created that enable data-based working. This in turn allows the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and thus customer data-based one-to-one marketing. In order to be able to work with this at all, intelligent employee qualification and recruitment is required. Qualified employees are also needed for a digital supply chain as well as future-proof business modeling including the development of smart stores. Digital-based stores also enable digitalized shopping centers. In the end, it’s all about “channel no matter” as the highest evolutionary stage of stationary retail.
