Chapter Chapter 1 in Managing the Digital Transformation, 2022, pp 1-10 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Many companies have already started a number of digitalization projects, some are still facing their first major project. The question that always arises is how to approach the topic of digitalization systematically. Should a company appoint a Chief Digital Officer or not? For example, how must the IT landscape and corporate culture be prepared so that the actual digitalization projects are successful? Isn’t a transformation strategy ultimately just a classic IT strategy? What is actually a digitalization project? This chapter presents the three-layer model of digital transformation.
