Chapter 1 in Economic Policy of the People's Republic of China, 2023, pp 1-10 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The aim of the book is, on the one hand, to arouse interest in Chinese economic policy and, on the other, to present economic areas that are less well known in Germany. Writing about the People’s Republic of China is a tightrope walk, in which the very positive portrayals on the part of the Chinese government and, on the other hand, the partly negative reporting from Germany have to be balanced. The conditions for the Chinese economy are briefly outlined, as they can be found under an autocratic one-party state. This is followed by an overview of the individual chapters.
