Application Examples for RPA in Financial and Management Accounting

Christian Langmann and Daniel Turi

Chapter 6 in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) - Digitization and Automation of Processes, 2022, pp 121-126 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 3 presented which processes are generally suitable for RPA and which are specifically suitable for RPA in financial and management accounting. Many companies start the introduction of RPA in financial and management accounting, since processes in these areas are usually largely standardized, well documented (often for regulatory reasons) and responsibilities and roles are clearly defined. It is, therefore, not surprising that, according to a recent study, more than 30% of the companies surveyed have already introduced RPA in financial accounting or are planning to do so (Cf. KPMG, Digitalisierung im Rechnungswesen 2020, retrieved on 01.04.2021 at: https://home.kpmg/de/de/home/media/press-releases/2020/09/digitalisierung-im-rechnungswesen-stagniert.html, 2020, p 14). In the following, we will therefore present practical examples of RPA in financial and management accounting.
