Tourism and Infrastructure

Christian J. Jäggi ()

Chapter Chapter 5 in Tourism before, during and after Corona, 2022, pp 69-83 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The extent of the required infrastructure varies depending on the type of tourism. Many forms of Slow Tourism such as hiking or trekking require relatively little investment in infrastructure, while event tourism, winter sports or beach holidays overseas are highly infrastructure-dependent. An increasingly common problem in a number of cities and tourist destinations is so-called overtourism.
