A chapter in Handbook of Media and Communication Economics, 2024, pp 1037-1053 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Dynamic technological developments led to processes of convergence and de-convergence in the field of audio-visual media. A great expansion of the supply of films, television programs, and other audio-visual content is accompanied by a fragmentation and individualization of the markets, both on the supply side and on the user side. The results of various studies conducted in the Department of Media Studies at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam-Babelsberg reveal which factors influence the usage of moving images in new, (de-)converging media environments.
