Chapter Chapter 1 in Planning and Reporting in BI-supported Controlling, 2023, pp 1-6 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In many medium-sized enterprises, the existing planning and reporting solutions in controlling are mapped in simple spreadsheet programs and report generators within the existing application programs. This is very time-consuming and costly, the information is not integrated and meaningful information from other areas and systems is not or only insufficiently included. What applies to medium-sized enterprises is also partly true for large enterprises. Although they have the advantage of being able to draw on larger IT and personnel resources, there is also a proliferation of heterogeneous software landscapes here, which are unsuitable for today’s planning and reporting tasks in controlling. This is where the book comes in. For business practice and science, new knowledge for planning and reporting in BI-supported controlling is presented. Chapter 1 shows the problem, objective and approach of the book.
