Abstract:
Abstract In recent decades, a successful Hungarian talent nurturing program has been developing. After a brief introduction to Hungarian talent nurturing tradition, we introduce the Pósa camps. Pósa camps are talent nurturing camps for students from grade 7 to grade 12. One of the main characteristics of the method is the structure of its problems, called problem-threads. Problem-threads are a series of problems connected by the same idea/topic/approach. The structure of the problem-threads can be a powerful tool for teaching problem-solving skills. In this article, we introduce the motion problem-thread, in which motion serves as a problem-solving tool, which also creates a unique connection between seemingly unrelated problems. With this specific problem-thread we describe how problem-threads are used in the camps.
