Chapter 12 in Successfully Managing Complex Companies, 2023, pp 113-123 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Companies can quickly or completely unexpectedly find themselves in a situation with a major or even existence-threatening potential for damage. The prevention and management of such crises is the subject of Chapter 12. In a two-dimensional crisis management framework, on the one hand a distinction is made between (1) escalating crises and (2) unexpected crises. On the other hand, a distinction is made between the three phases (1) crisis prevention, (2) crisis management, and (3) crisis follow-up. The three phases are then described. Finally, the responsibilities of the supervisory and executive boards are clarified.
