Chapter 13 in Successfully Managing Complex Companies, 2023, pp 127-136 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Chapter 13 looks at the meta-task of promoting entrepreneurship. First, entrepreneurship is described. Then, three sub-tasks for promoting entrepreneurship are distinguished: (1) Entrepreneurship-oriented leadership by top management, (2) Organizational measures to promote entrepreneurship, and (3) Entrepreneurship-oriented selection and retention of managers. The promotion of entrepreneurship should be done in a customized manner. To achieve this, different categories of organizational units are distinguished, and the recommendations are formulated in a differentiated manner based on these categories. The chapter concludes with a clarification of the responsibilities of the supervisory and executive boards.
