Chapter 7 in Successfully Managing Complex Companies, 2023, pp 59-68 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 7 deals with the identification of possible developments in the environment. This involves using weak signals to identify developments as early as possible. The task is divided into three sub-tasks: (1) scanning, (2) monitoring, and (3) naming. The three sub-tasks are then presented. In the context of monitoring, early warning systems are discussed, and in the context of naming, environmental scenarios are briefly introduced. Finally, the responsibilities of the supervisory and executive boards are presented.
