Abstract: Abstract Hidden champions are characterized in their ambitious pursuit of market leadership by a strategy of focus and depth, continuous internationalization efforts, and a consistent focus on innovation. For them, market leadership means much more than just reporting the largest market share. They lead their customers, competitors, and markets by establishing standards and setting benchmarks. Consistently creating competitive advantages in technologies, services, and system integration that are difficult to imitate, hidden champions succeed in raising the barriers to entry for new competitors.
