A chapter in Hidden Champions Case Compendium, 2024, pp 133-150 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The case study Schalker Eisenhütte places students into a leadership situation requiring complex decision-making for strategic repositioning of the leading producer of reliable underground rail vehicles for the global mining industry. In the context of a fundamentally changing global market environment, the company needs to develop and decide on business model innovations. These decisions need to be analyzed and evaluated in a context of acquisitions and divestments as well as integration and development of strategic competencies.
