Chapter Chapter 21 in 33 Phenomena of Purchasing Decisions, 2024, pp 111-115 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter introduces increments as a central pricing element of usage-dependent services, presents scientific studies that quantify the influence of increments on the invoice amount, shows that errors are often made when choosing a tariff with different increments, and discusses the construct of Numeracy—the mathematical abilities of a user—as a possible cause of such tariff choice errors.
