A chapter in Age-appropriate Driver Assistance Systems, 2024, pp 151-179 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter summarizes the results of the study on the acceptance and willingness to pay of older people. For this purpose, important results of previous research are first presented, but also explanations for the willingness to pay and the acceptance of driver assistance systems for older people as well as for the influence of critical life events are sought. Then, the research concept and research results of the first main study on the willingness to pay for the offered driver assistance systems and on acceptance are presented and compared with the results of the second main study on improved acoustic driver assistance systems. From this, more in-depth insights into the market potential of older drivers can then be derived.
