Chapter Chapter 2 in Organizational Design in a Complex and Unstable World, 2024, pp 11-32 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract As organizations, companies operate in a complex environment. In order to cope with this, they increase their internal complexity to such an extent that the requirements of the environment can be met appropriately. This has an impact on the communication and coordination of and within organizations. Various strategies are available for dealing with complexity. Recent systems theory offers a conceptually coherent approach to a current understanding of organizations and makes it possible to develop strategies for action. This also includes current developments in digital transformation and its management challenges.
