Abstract: Abstract The last touchpoint of the Employee Journey is not the very last one. Some employees resign, gain experience in another company, and then return with new ideas. Therefore, offboarding should never be seen as a final farewell. And even if the employees do not return, an exit interview serves to receive feedback about the company and discuss opportunities for improvement. Even if it may already be too late, employees are only honest after their resignation and points are mentioned that can be useful for further employees. Especially employees from cultures that are used to indirect feedback and high-context communication can provide more information in a final conversation than during their employment. If employees leave due to a conflict, this is the last opportunity to ascertain the reasons for the conflict and avert reputational damage. Because employees who leave the company angry may leave a negative review on portals like Kununu or Glassdoor. If employees leave because they hope for further development opportunities in another company, an exit interview can signal that a return is possible.
