Enterprise Architecture in the Agile Project Everyday Life

Hüseyin Yüksel ()

Chapter Chapter 5 in Enterprise Architecture in the Digital World, 2024, pp 135-164 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The integration of enterprise architecture into the agile project routine is an important step in developing a long-term successful and sustainable IT landscape. In agile software development, flexibility, rapid delivery, and continuous improvement are paramount. This chapter shows how enterprise architects can tactically plan target architectures in several expansion stages in an agile environment. An agile target operating model is presented, which specifically illustrates the application of the SAFe framework to an exemplary company in the energy sector and clarifies the role that enterprise architects have in it. Finally, the importance of managing standards in the age of digitalization for enterprise architects is explained using a reference architecture for the API economy.
