Chapter Chapter 10 in Digitalization in Procurement, 2024, pp 159-178 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In these interviews, Alisée de Tonnac discusses opportunities for and through start-ups in emerging markets. Alisée de Tonnac is CEO & Co-founder of Seedstar World, a global start-up competition that positively impacts the lives of people in emerging markets through technology and entrepreneurship. The most important thing for start-ups are the customers—as consumers in the B2C business, as buyers in the B2B business. Successful start-ups draw from the ability to develop innovations and transform them into marketable products faster than is possible in traditional industries. Especially in emerging markets, there are enormous potentials because some industries like banks are not accessible to a large part of the population and start-ups could exploit this vacuum.
