Chapter Chapter 5 in Digitalization in Procurement, 2024, pp 63-80 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Digitization has extensively influenced society and the economy in recent years, leading to comprehensive changes in business models and products, particularly in purchasing. Moreover, it should not be assumed that this process will lose momentum in the coming years. From the authors’ perspective, it is necessary to continually critically examine and utilize the entrepreneurial opportunities of digitization, as otherwise, with the progression of digitization, the competition overtakes, new business areas are not developed, and thus the potential risk of economic crises or even insolvencies increases. This chapter aims to demonstrate, based on theses, what prospective opportunities and challenges can be associated with digitization from an economic and also legal perspective.
