Functional Safety (Safety)
Thomas Liedtke ()
Chapter Chapter 4 in Information Security, 2024, pp 81-96 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Functional safety is based on a risk-based approach. The safety objectives of Safety and Security can contradict each other and must be consolidated. While functional safety deals with the protection of life and limb from technical systems, Security protects technical systems against external attacks on the compromise of security properties such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
