Chapter Chapter 10 in Seven Building Blocks of a Successful Corporate Restructuring, 2024, pp 127-142 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract A successful restructuring results in a stable and profitable day-to-day operation as well as in the long-term competitiveness of the company. A healthy confidence in one’s own abilities is good. Nevertheless, the progress of the restructuring and the performance of the company should additionally be measured regularly based on objective data. Performance can be captured and made controllable in the dimensions of strategy (what progress is the company making in realizing its vision and strategic goals), operations (is the company delivering the planned performance in day-to-day operations), and restructuring (is the transformation of the company proceeding as planned and where is there additional need for action). Data becomes information through analysis. Information becomes management tools through targeted communication. Success is relative in all of this. On the one hand, seemingly great successes from the company’s perspective may still be insufficient for the competition in the market. On the other hand, it is not about achieving the absolute best results, but about being better than the competition. Especially in the disciplines that are decisive for competition.
