Chapter Chapter 8 in Seven Building Blocks of a Successful Corporate Restructuring, 2024, pp 99-116 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract A platform is the basis or standpoint from which considerations, intentions, and actions are taken. Corporate restructurings are a good opportunity to review the future viability of a company’s classic IT platforms. When digitizing the company, make sure that it does not become an end in itself. Be clear about what you want to achieve and only then ask yourself how digitization can be useful to you in this regard. Restructurings mean a significant change for almost all stakeholders inside and outside the company. The right company-specific choice and design of platforms for accompanying internal and external communication are of essential importance. Communication is not a one-way street. Listen carefully to your counterparts and ask them questions. Incorporate new insights into your opinion formation and do not insist on your standpoints. In an increasingly complex working world, division of labor is a must. Therefore, ensure pleasant and efficient forms of collaboration both internally and externally during the restructuring as well as in the subsequent day-to-day business.
