Abstract:
Abstract A fundamental change in companies through digital technologies cannot be successfully accomplished without a corresponding cultural shift. However, this aspect is still neglected in digital transformation projects. Often, it remains merely a call to attach great importance to culture in the corresponding processes of digital transformation. The article also refers to the phenomenon of hybrid corporate culture: It shows how presence, digital, and virtual culture can be linked into a harmonious whole. The central importance of culture is highlighted and justified in this chapter. This section explains the credo of this book: A digital transformation must be embedded in a corresponding cultural process, as it is never merely an end in itself, but always optimizes operational functions and success factors. Addressing culture is an essential prerequisite for this digital transformation to succeed.
