The Family Charter
Kirsten Baus ()
Chapter Chapter 9 in The Family Strategy, 2025, pp 119-132 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The family charter marks both the end and the beginning of the family strategy. It is the founding document that provides the framework for a new era of collaboration within an entrepreneurial family. The charter stands at the end of the guided process of family strategy and at the beginning of the family’s independently practiced family governance. It forms the bulwark of an entrepreneurial family against alienation, it maintains the family members’ awareness of a common interest, it replaces arbitrariness with ordered procedures, it creates planning security and strengthens cohesion.
