Chapter Chapter 3 in Nature as Capital: Evolution or Revolution?, 2026, pp 113-142 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The first two chapters highlight the necessity of understanding and defining nature as capital within the socioeconomic context. Such an understanding of nature as capital is crucial for the development of sustainable business practices and the protection of our planet’s invaluable ecosystems. The discourse surrounding the concept of nature as capital points to a growing recognition of the need to integrate ecological considerations and the value of biodiversity into economic indicators and policies, aligning human activities with the sustainability of natural systems.
