Chapter Chapter 2 in Nonlinear Functional Analysis, 1985, pp 35-94 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Mathematical models for a large number of problems in science lead to equations F x = y in infinite-dimensional spaces rather than to the finite systems of equations considered in the first chapter. In particular, all kinds of differential equations, integral equations, integro-differential equations etc. can be formulated this way on usually infinite-dimensional spaces of functions.
