A chapter in The Mathematician Sophus Lie, 2002, pp 278-298 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There is absolutely no indication in the existing documents and letters as to whether Sophus took his usual mountain tour in the summer of 1880. Perhaps he stayed home as support to Anna and Maia, who was now three, and to be near little Dadi. Anna, who seemed to have a special eye for hair, this summer clipped a lock Sophus’ head and folded it into a piece of paper. Then, on the outside, she wrote: “Sophus Lie, 38 years old”. Unlike what she had found in her own hair, there was no grey in this lock.
