Abstract: Abstract There are various ways to construct a random function starting from a population of random objects. Everything depends on the way in which the different objects are combined. In this chapter, three combination rules are successively considered, namely the addition, the maximum and the superposition, which give rise respectively to the random token model, the boolean random function and the dead leaves model.
