Abstract: Abstract A convenient way to introduce substitution random functions is by analogy with mapping techniques. Roughly speaking, a map displays spatial information (e.g. relief) coded in a conventional way (e.g. green for plains, blue for seas etc...) . More formally, it can be expressed as Y ○ T where T denotes a spatial information function and Y stands for a coding process.
