A chapter in Traffic and Granular Flow’01, 2003, pp 537-542 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We extend the Optimal Velocity Model for 1-dimension car following to a model in 2-dimensional space. We present the possibilities of applying the model to the investigation of several kinds of phenomena of collective behaviors, such as granular flow and pedestrian dynamics.
