Abstract: Zusammenfassung Theon von Alexandria (Θέων ὁ Ἀλεξανδρεύς) (335–405 n. Chr.) war Mathematiker und Astronom in Alexandria zur einer Zeit, in der das Museion bereits zerstört war. Seine Lebenszeit ist fixiert, da er die Sonnenfinsternis vom 16. Juni 364 und eine Mondfinsternis vom November des gleichen Jahres in Alexandria beobachtet hat, wie er in seinem Almagest-Kommentar (Buch VI) berichtet. Die Suda gibt an, dass er unter Kaiser Theodosius I (Regierungszeit 379–395) in Alexandria lebte; ferner, dass er Mitglied des Museions war.
