Ambidextrous Leadership in Times of Crisis
Julia Duwe ()
Chapter 6 in Ambidextrous Leadership, 2022, pp 169-209 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter is the result of an interview study on the question of how leadership drives people and companies to come out stronger from the crisis. It documents the exceptional circumstances of the first months in 2020 in six interviews with representatives of the German corporate landscape. Between March and May, they shared their perspectives with Ambidextrous Leadership. The finding: “Double ambidexterity” increases the resilience of companies in times of crisis. Navigating ambidextrously is the key to an adaptable and flexible organization that withstands the crisis. The chapter shows in practical examples how ambidextrous leadership works in the crisis.
