Abstract:
Abstract We introduce the basic tools in medical decision making and explain the meaning and relevance of terms such as the ‘prior probability of disease,’ and the ‘sensitivity’ and ‘specificity’ of a test. Each chapter provides illustrations, examples and exercises to sharpen the reader’s understanding of the issues discussed.
