Abstract: Zusammenfassung Lange Zeit dachte man, dass Pierre de Fermat (Abb. 6.1) am 17.8.1601 in Beaumont-de-Lomagne in Frankreich geboren wurde. Klaus Barner52 hat dieses Datum in Zweifel gezogen. Er konnte glaubhaft darlegen, dass derjenige Pierre, der 1601 als Sohn von Dominique Fermat im Taufregister von Beaumont eingetragen wurde, nicht der berühmte Mathematiker ist.
