Chapter Chapter 1 in Blockchain Technology for Business Processes, 2022, pp 1-24 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this book is to clarify misunderstandings about this technology, explain existing approaches, and empower the reader to make their own decisions about whether implementing a blockchain-based solution is worthwhile. Terms will be explained and placed in the correct context. The target audience for this book are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that operate in value chains, for example as suppliers. In addition, it should help interested parties who want or need to deal more intensively with the possibilities of application, to think and work through the material in a structured manner. In addition to conveying the necessary knowledge about this technology, the reader is asked to deal with their own processes. Only if you know your own process structures, can you possibly formulate requirements for third parties, implement these requirements technically.
