The General Solution Expressed by Three Independent Stress Components

Peter Halfar

Chapter 17 in Stresses in glaciers, 2022, pp 167-182 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Eight models “a” to “h” are listed in detail, which describe the general solution of the balance and boundary conditions by three selected components of the stress tensor or the deviatoric stress tensor. These three selected components can each be taken as arbitrary functions within the framework of the general solution.
