Abstract: Abstract The fact that compliance violations occur is a regrettable fact that should neither lead to resignation nor to actionism. Active and potential perpetrators should be “picked up” as early as possible. If the motives are understood and the actions are traced, a one-time violation will not become a lasting pattern of behavior. In addition to the perpetrator, it is also necessary to consider the other, uninvolved employees. They draw conclusions from the way they deal with the delinquent and orient their own behavior accordingly. If compliance takes this perspective into account, punishment or revenge will not be the only criterion, but understanding and mercy will prevail, the latter being far from a “everything will be fine” without a concept.
