Abstract: Zusammenfassung Das Kapitel liefert Grundwissen und elementare Aussagen über die Kegelschnitte, deren Theorie nicht mehr Teil der Schulmathematik ist; es dient als Einstieg in das folgende Kapitel über Apollonios von Perga. Es werden die wichtigste Eigenschaften von Parabel, Ellipse und Hyperbel besprochen.
