Chapter Chapter 10 in Strategic Sustainability Management, 2025, pp 187-199 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Now that the different concepts for the “correct” implementation of sustainability have been introduced, the excellence model for sustainability presented, and aspects such as corporate culture, reporting, and external communication have been addressed, we want to sketch the development of a roadmap. This initially assumes that the decision-making process for the “correct” concept has been completed. The successful implementation of sustainability management requires linking the chosen potentials of sustainability with a cultural change in the company. The presented step-by-step plan, which summarizes the most important steps, serves this purpose. It should be noted that cultural change is a continuous process and requires permanent support and adaptation. The approach concept should therefore be regularly reviewed and adapted to the specific needs and the respective current challenges of the company. A joint decision-making process requires visibility and a common understanding of the decision-making bases. We want to address this visibility in this chapter.
