Chapter 8 in Solving Complex Decision Problems, 2025, pp 65-78 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with the development and evaluation of solution options and thus covers Steps 3–6 of the general heuristic problem-solving procedure. First, the development of solution options is discussed in Step 3. This is followed by the determination of the decision criteria in Step 4. In Step 5, “Possibly: Determining environmental scenarios”, the actor must decide whether environmental scenarios are required. If this is the case, he must define them. The results of Steps 3–5 enable the construction of the decision matrix and the determination of the single consequences of the options in Step 6.
